India is the second-largest aluminium producer in the world

India is currently the second-largest producer of aluminium in the world. This achievement highlights the country’s significant role in the global aluminium industry.

Production Growth: India’s primary aluminium production has shown consistent growth. In the first quarter of FY25 (April-June), production reached 10.43 lakh tons, up from 10.28 lakh tons in the same period of FY24.

Global Ranking: India ranks second globally in aluminium production, following China.

Economic Impact: The robust production levels reflect strong demand from various industries, including energy, infrastructure, construction, automotive, and machinery.

Other Rankings: Besides aluminium, India is also the third-largest producer of lime and the fourth-largest producer of iron ore.
