India’s first privately-led helicopter manufacturing unit is set to be established in Kolar, Karnataka, through a partnership between Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) and Airbus.

The facility will manufacture Airbus’ best-selling H125 helicopter, marking a significant milestone in India’s aerospace sector.

1. Overview of the Project

• The Final Assembly Line (FAL) for H125 helicopters will be set up in Vemgal Industrial Area, Kolar, approximately two hours from Bengaluru.

• The facility will be the fourth such installation globally, after France, the US, and Brazil.

The facility will also include Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, ensuring long-term sustainability.
