The joint India-U.S. mission to fly two Gaganyatris to the International Space Station (ISS) is an exciting collaboration between ISRO and NASA.

Mission Overview:

This mission is part of the Axiom-4 mission organized by Axiom Space Inc.

It involves sending two Indian astronauts, referred to as “Gaganyatris,” to the ISS.

Selected Astronauts:

Prime Gaganyatri: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla.

Backup Gaganyatri: Group Captain Prashanth Nair.

Both are test pilots from the Indian Air Force and have undergone extensive training in India and Russia.

Training and Preparation:

The astronauts will receive advanced training at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

The experiences gained will be beneficial for India’s Gaganyaan mission, which aims to send Indian astronauts to space on an Indian launch vehicle.
